Blog Glossary - Words definition for Bloggers

Audioblog-> A blog that includes audio clips in MP3, AAC or other audio format with brief text descriptions of their content.



Backlink->A backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node (Björneborn and Ingwersen, 2004). Backlinks are also known as affiliate_link incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.

Backlinks (or back-links [UK]) are incoming links to a website or web page. Inbound links were originally important (prior to the emergence of search engines) as a primary means of web navigation; today their significance lies in search engine optimization (SEO). The number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page (though other measures, such as PageRank, are likely to be more important). Outside of SEO, the backlinks of a webpage may be of significant personal, cultural or semantic interest: they indicate who is paying attention to that page.


Blog - Short of WebLog. is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.


Blogroll- List of author's favoraite blog or A list of other blogs that a blogger might recommend by providing links to them


BlogHost->A blog host is the company that provides the space on their servers and equipment to store your blog.


Permalink - A permalink, or permanent link, is a URL that points to a specific blog or forum entry after it has passed from the front page to the archives


Podcast->A podcast is a series of digital media files (either audio or video) that are released episodically and downloaded through web syndication


RSS->RSS (most commonly expanded as "Really Simple Syndication") is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries


Video Blog or Vlog->A vlog (or video blog) is a blog that contains video content.
